Founder and director

Zandra Meshack-Edison

Founder and CEO of Thrive Meshack-Edison Rehabilitation Services (TMERS). TMERS is A newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting transitional, affordable housing for women returning to the Community, and women having been negatively impacted by the criminal justice system. My decision to focus on owning and operating transitional housing in the San Diego, CA area is deeply personal, rooted in my own personal experiences, and having overcome numerous adversities against all odds.

Many years of education, research, hardwork and dedication to making permanent, healthy, lifestyle changes in my own life was necessary before my decision to found TMERS. In 2013 I earned my Associates Degree in Behavioral Science from San Diego City College (SDCC). Graduating from SDCC  a second time in 2016. I completed my studies at SDCC in 2018, having earned my Alcohol and Other Drug Substances (AODS) Counseling Certification, and Mental Health Certification. In 2014 I began working as an AODS Counselor and Case Manager in the San Diego, CA area. Upon completion of my studies at SDCC in 2018, I transferred to San Diego State University, where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, minoring in Social Work. Currently I am two semesters away from completing my Masters in Public Administration, (MPA) with an emphasis on Nonprofit Management at California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB).

My motto is, “If you are not a part of the solution, then it is likely that you may be a part of the problem.” Working with underserved, marginalized, and underrepresented  individuals is my/our passion.

Here at TMERS we are just getting started. We are rolling up our sleeves, putting in the necessary work and working towards serving our preferred population, for the betterment of themselves, and the community at large.

We believe in leading with love to assist homeless individuals in getting their lives back on track within a supportive environment, with peer-to-peer support and community-based resources. Helping the underserved populations reach self-sufficiency and not just surviving but thriving because of the permanent lifestyle changes they make.
