Founder and CEO

I am the founder of the Thrive Meshack-Edison Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting transitional, affordable housing for women. My decision to focus on owning and operating transitional housing in the San Diego, CA area is deeply personal, rooted in my own experience.

James Phillip is a passionate advocate for social justice and equity. A graduate of San Diego State University, James also holds a degree in Alcohol and Other Drug Studies (AODS) from San Diego Community College, complementing his academic foundation in criminal justice.

Whitney Walker was born in Northern California and mostly raised in Southern California in the city of Long Beach.Whitney attended the prestigious Long Beach Polytechnic High School from 99-2003 and graduated with honors.

I became institutionalized at a young age after being in behavioral camps, group homes, domestic violence shelters, correctional facilities, and alcohol/drug treatment rehabilitation centers. Upon completion of a local inpatient treatment program, I identified as transit with my daughter utilizing community resources.

Rooted in empathy and understanding, our approach emphasizes peer-to-peer support and access to community-based resources.
